Allotment is an acousmatic story* about life during the first weeks of the UK lockdown, March to April 2020. The work combines the voice of writer Joanna Dobson with soundscapes (interior and exterior) and archive material. In addition to referencing the plot of land rented for the purpose of growing flowers and vegetables, the title relates to the ‘allotted space’ people have been confined to during lockdown.
